Where to Sleep and Brunch in Liverpool

Where I Stay

If you want to be central, there’s plenty of hotels in Liverpool for every budget. I recently stayed in a studio to sleep 3 at the newly opened Staycity Apartments. Staycity have serviced apartments around the UK including Birmingham and recently added Liverpool Corn Exchange to its book recently. Just a small walk from Liverpool’s famous Albert Dock and equally as short a walk from Liverpool One shopping street, Staycity Corn Exchange was the ideal location for a weekend of mixing business with pleasure. If you’re arriving from Liverpool Lime Street, the apartments are around a 10-15 minute walk or. £3-4 Uber journey if like me you don’t particularly travel light. The studio itself was pretty compact. One large double bed and a single pull out sofa bed, kitchenette, it’s still the size of your average hotel room but offers up the extra amenities if you need them whilst being amazingly situated to take in the sights of the city.

Alternatively, if you’re looking to explore the city but are on a budget, Travelodge often have some amazing deals on rooms and Epic Aparthotel and The Shankly by Signature Living are ideal if there’s a few of you and you’re looking to sleep in style whilst still being in the centre of the city.

Violet, Kirsty and I had headed to Liverpool as few weekends ago for the plus size fashion event of the year, Curve Fashion Festival, where plus size clothing brands, plus size shoppers and bloggers alike can all get together to celebrate fashion, talk style and basically, get everyone together to have a big old catch up and talk clothes over a couple of Aperol’s. Any small excuse to be in Liverpool is big enough for me and it felt only right that we make the most of Violet’s mum weekend away and enjoy some of Liverpool’s infamous night life and feast in one of the many places to enjoy a brunch on the morning after the night you’ve sank one too many a glass of Prosecco. Or yknow, a can of Red Stripe if you stumble into the 3 story rock club, Elektric where we wound up our Saturday evening.

Love Thy Neighbour

You can’t take a trip to Liverpool as three bloggers and not stop by the multiple snapped and shared Love Thy Neighbour. Love Thy Neighbour is what would be referred to as Instagram goals, and following the success of the Bold Street branch where you can grab a picture with the brands building high Avocado is Bae mural, a second LTN has opened up next to Eat, Sleep Love in Hatton Gardenwhich is just a short stroll from St George’s Hall and Lime Street station.

We stopped off mid morning for a hit of carbs and caffeine to blow the cobwebs away and get us feeling in the best spirits for a day in the city, hello shopping, and refuel for another night on the cobbled streets of Concert Square.

What’s good to eat at Love Thy Neighbour? Well, pretty much everything. It’s one of those brunch menus that makes you uhm, ah, decide on one dish and then order an extra portion of chocolate and strawberry pancakes because you can’t quite decide between sweet and savoury (why have one when you can have both?). I had the chickpea and pancakes with hummus, tomatoes and a super size side serving of grilled halloumi, a frothy cappuccino and of course, THOSE pancakes to satisfy my sweet tooth.

The spending money was gifted by Hotels.com, but all views are my own.
