When it comes to clothing I really do believe in key pieces that are timeless and given you pay for quality they’ll stand the test of time no matter what (except zombie apocolypse). I’m talking about those clothes that you pull out of your wardrobe time and time again; a good pair of jeans which make your ass look like Christina Hendricks, a classic winter coat, the ultimate freakum little black dress, a soft but structured hangbag which gets better in time… not something that falls apart after a couple of washes or goes at the knees.

A black leather jacket is a style staple and something that every girl (and guy) should have hanging in their wardrobe.

The super sunny days we’re having at the minute has no calling for leather unless you’re looking for a Ross from Friends and his leather pants scenario, but I’m unashamedly looking forward to the autumn months where layering becomes a necessity. If Mulberry are the creme de la creme of handbags then BLK DNM at Avenue 32 are well and truly repping it for the leather jacket. Whether you’re after cropped, biker or classic, your closet will thank you for a this fashion staple.

I never saw a leather jacket as being a wardrobe staple for me, I always envisaged that in leather I’d look like something from outside a dodgy sex store in Amsterdam or a Shirley from Eastenders lookalike (with the dodgy barnet, bottle of vodka and a soft spot for Phil Mitchell). After seeing many a blogger babe with a leather jacket hanging off their back (see this babe, and this one, and this one) I decided last year that I might as well follow the fashion pack and I’ve never looked back.
