Situated on Paradise Street in the heart of Liverpool ONE’s shopping hub, Cosy Club Liverpool occupies a first floor vantage point for people watching (my favourite past time) whilst living up to its “cosy” name. Quirky decor, clashing colours, walls covered in prints in extravagant frames and light fittings that wouldn’t feel out of place in the 70s or a Game of Thrones castle makes Cosy Club an informal and homely place to rest your shopping bags and aching feet.
Whether you want to sit overlooking the shopping street in the floor to ceiling glass fronted dining area, featuring a mish mash of brightly painted dining tables whilst enjoying a bite to eat from the menu or sink into a sofa in the mood lit bar with a coffee (or espresso martini, duh) Cosy Club has the perfect set up.

A new food (yum) and cocktail (yass) menu has just launched just in time for the summer months. The menu offers a mix of classic gastro pub dishes (including pie, fish & chips and gammon & eggs), a delicious looking brunch menu, lighter options such as salads and sandwiches and brand new tapas small plates menu. Which coincidentally, are my favourite thing to order. Aside from cocktails, of course.
The tapas dishes come in at £4.95 each or 3 for £13.95. There’s a varied selection of dishes for both veggie and non veggie palates and we ordered a combination of both along with a dish from the sharers menu and the main menu. Screw having them come out as two separate courses, I wanted my food right where I could see it, right in front of me and ready for the taking.
From the tapas menu we ordered the halloumi fries, popcorn bacon (yep, ya heard right) and chorizo and calamari. The sweet chilli jam served with the deep fried saltiness of the halloumi was a delicious contrast and the popcorn bacon was complimented perfectly by the chipotle mayo it was served with. What is it about dunking food in sauces that just makes it 1000x better?
We ordered the colourful and uber fresh looking Mediterranean Sharer due to an absolutely ridiculous love of hummus and as a refreshing contrast to the deep fried bacon and halloumi. A supersized bowl made up of hummus with juicy pomegranate seeds, sweet carrot tapenade, pickled red cabbage, creamy tzatziki and fresh heirloom tomatoes served with warm slices of pitta bread.
From the mains menu the oozy gooey option of mac and cheese served with truffled kale and leek seemed to much of a stodgy carb offering to pass up. Our waitress advised that the mac and cheese recipe had ben recently overhauled and I’m certainly glad for it as the inclusion of the leeks in one of my old reliable carb dishes was incredible. Super cheesy? Yep. Bite to the macaroni? Oh yes. Nice wedge of super garlic bread to soak up any left over sauce? Now you’re talking.
I have to admit. We felt as though we may have over ordered a little bit but ain’t that just how it goes when you’re ordering lots of picky bits? It’s especially disappointing when you’ve had your eye on the brand new Peach Melba from the dessert menu only to decline because your fat pants won’t possibly allow you to take another mouthful.
Luckily there was enough room for a few more sips of the sparkling rose petal infused English Rose cocktail: Bulldog gin, a splash of lemon juice and rose water, muddled with fresh strawberries and topped with prosecco.
Love a bit of fizz and in particular, an Aperol Spritz? To celebrate Liverpool ONE’s food & drink festival, Cosy Club Liverpool will be offering 2 for the price of 1 Spritz between 12 noon and 6pm on the outside terrace. I’ll see you there!
That mac’n’cheese sounds delicious, especially the double-carb with garlic bread!
