Midnight, You Come & Pick Me Up

Athleisure and sports luxe is still big news in 2017 and means that whilst hoodies, tees and trainers are becoming the new “style”, your everyday  comfy wear such as boring leggings are getting a bit of an overhaul. Comfort doesn’t need to mean drab and so with this in mind, gone are saggy kneed numbers that go bobbly after a couple of wears or show off your Thursday pants after a few too many washes and in their places are print, textured or coloured leggings to really make your outfits pop.

This Limited Collection release from Yours Clothing takes the hottest trend of the year, plisse and combines it with cut out mesh inserts to the knee. These leggings would work perfectly with an oversized slogan tee and trainers for the days when you’re out and about running errands and comfort definitely overrides style but I wanted them primarily to pair with heels, a tee and biker jacket  for a night out.

The tshirt trend that’s having its moment right now and has done for the past few months has been graphic tees.  Whether that’s a custom band tee from your favourite tour or an off the hanger design like this choker style tee with shredded arm detailing to the arms, this style is one that looks good with pretty much everything.  Boyfriend jeans, skinnies, PU leggings, shorts or body con skirt.

You can’t go wrong with a denim jacket in summer and although this jacket isn’t a “girlfriend jacket” per se, I sized up a couple of times to ensure that this jacket is oversized and comfortable enough to layer over anything from a lightweight cami to a comfy knit come the cooler months – hello transitional wardrobe staples.  I intended to customise this jacket with patches or some fabric pens but seeing as I’ve not quite got there yet, these cute pins to the pocket and lapel.
