L’Oreal – True Red Lipstick

A couple of weeks back I introduced you to my Holy Grail red lipstick Chilli by MAC. I’m a true believer in even though you have the perfect pair of shoes at home, it doesn’t mean you can’t see how others may fit. My case in point: I can’t stop buying lipsticks, especially not red lipsticks.

I’ve mentioned before my love for a red lip.   I truly do believe that there is no better pick me up than a flash of ruby red on that cupids bow to instantly pulls an outfit together and make you feel like some sultry pin up girl.

Last year L’Oreal sprung to the top of my “I HEART YOU” list when they released their Caresse lipstick/balms, and when I saw that they had released this Colour Riche range had been released I had to give it a whirl.

To give these their full name they are the Color Riche Boosting Serum Lipstick which promise to give you more defined and younger looking lips – score.

*full blurb*

L’Oréal Paris Boosting Serum Inside is our first lipstick with a serum heart, enriched with ingredients from our advanced skincare technology, Collagen and Pro- Xylane®, chosen for their moisturising properties.Lips are plumped with moisture, defined, and enveloped in voluptuous colour that doesn’t feather. Available in 8 sumptuous new shades.

The “sumptuous” shade that I picked up was (surprisingly) True Red and boy does this live up to its name.  This a redder than red/stopping traffic shade.  There’s no blue tones which makes it a very wearable colour – it looks particularly fetching against a fair skin.  As mentioned in the blurb, these come with a little heart of serum that runs through the “stick” which is what gives the moisturising properties and this little heart does wonders for my cold air and winter abused lips where I’ve found some of my old faithful lipsticks are letting me down (I can’t seem to exfoliate enough, stupid weather)

I have my eye on Luminous Grape next as (another) winter lip.  A girl can never have too many berry shade lipsticks, surely?

Color Riche lipsticks are available at all L’Oreal concession stands but can be found on the Boots website for £8.69 (stock up on those Boots points ladies)

  • Been loving a red lip this year:)

  • I am the same as you – I just can’t stop buying lipsticks. It’s ridiculous how many I have from each shade family! I do love a good red lip though. My favourite is Lady Danger from MAC! xo
