Soap & Glory Dr Spot | Breakout Emergency

Soap and Glory Dr Spot Super Strength Breakout Clearing Gel = Miracleworker.

I feel as though I can have no skin issues at all for weeks and then one day, usually after I’ve indulged a little too extravagantly in stodgy or sweet food washed with far too many units of alcohol, a spot which feels like the size of Mount Vesuvius begins to brew under the skin. Slowly throughout the day be it at my desk, when I’m out for food or on the train I can practically feel it’s evolution from blocked pore to yellow headed demon beneath a layer foundation which strains at its desire to glow like a beacon at anyone it meets.

“Hi! Nice to meet you! I’m Charl’s spot! How do you do?”

Soap and Glory’s Dr Spot Super Strength Breakout Clearing Gel was an impulse buy  in order to take advantage of a buy one get one half price deal in Boots and was my “half price product” when I picked up the Soap and Glory Speed Plump all day moisturiser.  My skin must have sensed the purchase because that afternoon a familiar tingling feeling in the corner of my nose began.  After a thorough cleanse with Peaches and Clean (another S&G product) I was looking forward to seeing how this fared against a good old fashioned tea tree stick, a dollop of Sudocrem or some minty fresh Colgate.

Soap and Glory Dr Spot Super Strength Breakout Clearing Gel as a product feels quite medicinal and is a clear gel consistency in a squeezy metal tube akin to retro Germolene..  The clear consistency means its completely invisible unlike the Sudocrem and toothpaste combo and is the perfect secret weapon if you simply can’t wait to go home and cleanse.  Simply cover the breakout with a pea size or smaller amount of product and leave it to work its magic. The pore-refining salicylic and lactic acids , plus a highly efficacious blend of irritation soothers, redness reducers, and oil-secretion slowers get to work immediately to dry up the troubled spot before it can take over your entire face.

If you thought they were joking about the Super Strength part, you were wrong my friend.   This certainly has a whiff about it and does sting on application which I weirdly enjoyed because I knew it must have been doing something – and do something it did!  Those painful and annoying nose crease spots that pop up out of nowhere tend to linger for days on end like a bad date you’re trying to avoid.  They leave crater like wounds which swallow up make up and crack and seep at the wrinkle of a nose.  Not cute.  After applying this little wonder worker when I got home and again before bed (appx 6 hours apart) the spot hadn’t COMPLETELY disappeared, there was still a hint of redness but I felt like I’d literally stopped an eruption in its tracks

At only £8 for 15ml and a little dab going a long way, Soap and Glory Dr Spot Super Strength Breakout Clearing Gel is definitely a miracle worker to keep on your bedside table or in your handbag for when you have an emergency breakout.
