There’s something about the sun that makes people more adventurous, hell, a few rays of sunshine and I’m getting out my milk bottle legs out like I’m Heidi Klum. For one, I open myself up to wearing alot more colour, both on my face aswell as clothing. I’m swappingI’ve been feeling inspired by two lovely colour loving bloggers, – Grace from All That Slap was wearing a simple but effective cobalt blue liner at the #LDNBloggersParty & it looked bloody beautiful and Jayne from Jaynes Kitschen is the absolute queen of colour pop eyeshadows – I’d love to be brave enough to carry off some of the eyemakeup looks she does. She’s incredible. With this in mind I’ve switched up my black liner for some blue, green and purple eyeliner and was looking at getting some bright eyeshadows.
Scoff at me for I am of the commoners, but I love a good rifle through Poundland bargains, especially the beauty products. Yes there’s a lot of tat, but you can also come across alot of discontinued gems that literally make you dance in the aisle – which is exactly what I did when I stumbled upon these Dainty Doll eyeshadows last weekend.I’m a huge Dainty Doll fan, infact I’m a big fan of anything that the Goddess of Ginge, Nicola Roberts does. Her solo album is one of my most played, I think she looks stunning in everything she wears and the Dainty Doll range that reps it for the pale faces is way up there on my love list. I’ve purchased a few Dainty Doll products before, some at full price and then I managed to snap up some bargains when they were being sold at Fragrance Direct but these, well….these lovelies were a POUND. A POUND. So I had to buy them all – don’t judge me.
(Swatched L-R – 008 Jungle, 006 Kingston Town, 001 Are You Experienced?, 007 Lollipops & Roses, 003 Teach Me Tiger)
I’ve used Jungle on an angled brush below my waterline teamed with as much of a bronzed looked as I can carry off, lashings of mascara and a neutral lip. I haven’t been brave enough to try out the rest yet, but I’m in love with Kingston Town and Lollipops & Roses – I think a few evenings playing with make up are in order.
I picked these up at the weekend so if you hurry you may still be able to get your hands on them – they retail at £11.25 EACH on the Look Fantastic website, so you’re saving yourself big money if your Poundland stocks them. More money for cocktails (or more lipstick).
