I have to admit. I spent a frantic Thursday night before Plus North in my little house with my mum having a slight meltdown over what I should wear. I was very concious of two things: I didn’t want to commit the cardinal “b!tch stole my look!” sin and also – I knew everybody was going to look stunning and everybody would be pulling it out of the bag. So thats what I wanted to try and do.
I spoke in my post about the actual Plus North event that these events help to celebrate the plus size clothing ranges that push the “fatshion” boundaries… so I decided to use the event to push my own boundaries with my outfit choices.
Fat girl in a crop top! I teamed this black jersey crop top (Primark, £3.50) with this skirt I picked up from Primark a few years ago (I have dubbed it my Carrie Bradshaw skirt) and never found the right time or right way in which to pull it off. The number of compliments I received was insane, I can’t believe I left it hidden away for so long – going to start wearing it on the supermarket run.
The night time outfit was this bright number from Primark @ ASOS which I instantly fell in love with. This dress boasted every big girls nightmare – cut out side panels. I intended to wear a top underneath to hide my modesty, but a couple of glasses of champagne later, a few peppy words from Betty and I wasn’t bothered. I don’t have any “proper” outfit pictures of the dress, but here’s a couple of play around pictures I took with Rosie.
