Friday 23rd August 2013 was the day of my best friends wedding. I’ve spoken about the impending day a few times on the blog, and with her permission I wanted to share with you some pictures of the bride and grooms special day.
The day started early for the bride, the mother of the bride, myself and the other bridesmaid, Kerry. We sipped champagne (4 bottles – oops), chatted, laughed and beautified ourselves (I was the MUA for the bride – she looked beautiful, if I do say so myself) before helping her into her gorgeous 50’s style wedding dress, popping on her purple satin heels in a Cinderella’s glass shoe style moment and telling her she was the most beautiful bride in the world – because she was.
The bride was walked down the aisle by her dashing older brother infront of the couples closest family and friends to the sound of By Your Side by Sade and was met by her handsome (and incredibly nervous) husband to be before they made their vows of “for better for worse” to eachother.
Yours truly welled up at several moments throughout the ceremony, mainly because of how happy and in love the two looked. My heart strings were well and truly tugged.
The theme of wedding was vintage and teacups, and no attention to detail was spared including the fabulous teacup cake. From our own vintage teacup with name card, a beautiful party favour, a pick n mix candy cart and a wishing tree – it was all so pretty and very Hayley and because of this, it was absolutely perfect.
I welled up again at the first dance (doesn’t it look like the most perfect 50’s snapshot?) and we ate, drank and danced throughout the day and into the early hours of the morning – I was grateful for the provision of “dancing shoes”. I feel so lucky to have been a part of such special day and to also have the honour of being Hayley’s bridesmaid.
I wish them lots of luck, love and happiness in their future together as man and wife x
