BEAUTY || Maybelline 14 Hour Superstay Lipstick

I’m not sure why I try and seek out lip products that claim to last forever because I am a serial re-applier. 9 times out of 10 you will find me holding up a compact mirror, pursing my lips, applying lipstick/gloss/balm and then doing that lip smooshing together thing.

Nevertheless, if I can find a colour to last on my lips for those dire moments when I may not be in a position to be reapply happy (shock horror) then this makes me a happy camper.

I first picked up one of these Maybelline Superstay 14 Hour lipsticks back in October time, but it appears for some reason that they’re only just being properly marketed (maybe its because the colour range is quite pink and bright heavy and more ideal for summer than winter? I don’t know)

There’s 20 shades in total (11 of these are on the Boots website) of which I bought “On and On Pink” and its by far been my favourite packed with a punch pink lipstick since. When I apply this colour I feel a smidge Nicki Minaj and a smidge Barbie – and I love it. The colour applies quite matte and I like to really work it into into my lips to get the ultimate pay off. The lasting power of these is incredible – they’re slightly drying and can feel a little tight if your lips aren’t the most hydrated things in the world.

After seeing the advert for these, I then went out and picked up “Ultimate Blush” – a more dusky pink colour but with a slight frosted shimmer effect to it – not usually something I’d go for but I figured because the formula is quite matte it wouldn’t be super shiny frosted 80’s Constance Carol mess… and I do quite like it.

Have I mentioned the smell yet? These babies, in their adorable bullets, smell absolutely divine – to me they smell like Haribo or Strawberry Laces and I’m forever sniffing them and swooning out loud.

They retail at £6.99 and you can buy them online at Boots.
