Khroma The Quickie Mascara Review

As part of the Khroma makeup “kollection” that I was sent to review, I received “The Quickie” mascara. As well as a hot to trot lip, I’m all about pretty, fluttery and uber black lashes. I wasn’t blessed with the most amazing of eyelashes so I need a little something something to give me length, volume, curl and definition. With the Kardashian girls being renowned for their amazing eye makeup I was expecting big things from the Khroma mascara to give me the ultimate “doll” eyes.

As with initial reaction to the Kardazzle kits (review to come) the overall packaging of the Khroma range on a whole is pretty basic and if I’m completely honest – cheap looking. But, (and its a big Kim Kardashian style butt) I’m willing to overlook this providing the product and application makes up for it. I just personally would associate the Kardashians with a much sleeker and sophisticated looking packaging.

My two favourite mascaras are both L’Oreal (Telescopic and Volume Million Lashes FYI) and have worked their way into being my absolute holy grails, so I was interested to see how this one would measure up. I’ve concluded that I’m a big fan of a plastic wand over a bristle brush as I find the smaller the brush the more I can get in at the root of the lash for ultimate OOMPH.

I quite simply love this mascara. Despite not having very high hopes for it after the inital “meh” of the packaging (shows you can never judge a book by its cover) and I’ve been a fan from the the first time I used it. It claims to curl and lengthen and I can safely say that I can ditch my Saw style lash curlers and still get the same effect. Because the wand is small enough to get into my little peepers and wiggle the wand right at the base of my lash, it gives me super black fluttery lashes in now time. Now, I’m not saying it gives me those incredible Kim Kardashian come to bed eyes, but I think I’m a fraction of the way there.

The Quickie  retails for $9.99 excl shipping (roughly £7) and is available from the Ulta website

** For the record, I love Kim Kardashian – she is my ultimate in girl crushes and I would not hesitate to say that I think I probably fancy her more than Kanye West.

  • Ive never been a big fan of those plastic wands but I think youve inspired me to try them out again, I want ‘ultimate OOPMH’ too!! x
