After expressing my interest in the Kardashian’s cosmetic range “Khroma”, I was sent a few products from their debut line. One of these was “The Quickie” mascara (which I fell in love with and reviewed here) and the other was the Kardazzle palettes. The palettes are available in Kim, Khloe and Kourtney, each to represent the individual sisters makeup look.
Kim’s Kardazzle is representative of the Kim Kardashian makeup look that is now YouTube Tutorial-ed the world over. The smokey eye. Her palette is made up of 4 shimmer and 4 matte shades, ranging from a silver shimmer right through to a black with silver glitter particles. The shadows in the palette are really pigmented, I do find that I get more pay off with the shimmery shades rather than the matte but the consistency of both is really good. The bronzer and blusher in the palette are both matte, they again have really good pay off and aren’t chalky at all. The blush in this Kardazzle is a lovely bright pinky/coral and the bronzer is ideal for that Kim K all over glow. The highlighter is quite cool toned and its the perfect glow to the tops of cheeks and brow bone. I’ve cracked this out once or twice for a smokey eye on a night out, but I’m a little bit of wimp when it comes to a super dark eye make up.
The Khloe Kardazzle is “me” in a palette (I once had a discussion with my cousin about which of the Kardashian’s we would be, she decided I’d be Khloe because she’s hilarious/has a non nonsense straight talking attitude) A neutrals palette of sorts, the same as Kim’s Kardazzale, Khloe’s is made of 4 shimmer and 4 matte eyeshadows, a blush, a bronzer and a highlight. This has been my go to palette since I received it as I can create a multitude of looks, bright eyed “honestly I’m awake” makeup for work, a bronzed/copper lid (this makes my blue eyes POP like a tube of Pringles) and a soft smokey eye – all looks that Khloe is famous for. As the bronzer in this palette is matte, it’s perfect for achieving that Khloe-esque contouring and the golden highlight gives the prettiest glow (I also use this on the inner corners of my eyes to bring a bit of brightness to my eyes)
I really do love these palettes, I’ve never been a fan of “all in one” palettes because I’m a product junkie and like to have a choice. I took the Khloe Kardazzle on holiday with my recently and it was handy to throw in my handbag while out and about for touch ups/carrying out one of those much sought after “day to night” looks.
The ONLY grumble I have about these palettes is the packaging. I’m not going to beat about the bush, it looks and feels cheap and I know I’m not the only one to comment on it. I think for the price point and the fact that it is a “Kardashian” palette, I expected a sleek and stylish looking palette (maybe in chrome to tie in with the Khroma name). It’s a small thing in the scheme of things and the over all product quality overshadows it.
There’s a whole load of other products in the US range which I hope they bring over to the UK, especially the “Lash Dash” faux lashes and the Joystick Lip Laquers. The Kardazzle’s retail at $12.99 and are available to buy here – for the price they’re a brilliant little kit, even if you aren’t a Kardashian fan.
