I FRemember that saying, “Water water everywhere, but not a drop to drink”? I think PU is the new water. If its not tartan, every other item of clothing has been touched by the hand of PU. Whether its a PU collar, trim, skirt, sleeves, the shops on the high street are beginning to resemble Rihanna’s S&M video.
Dressed up or styled down, a bit of PU is the perfect way to give an outfit a bit of a tough edge which is why this waterfall jacket from Yours Clothing has been the perfect addition to my bulging wardrobe since I was sent it
A tailored jacket is my favourite to throw on on a night out to pull an outfit together and protect myself from the elements , after all, every girl worth her weight in gold wears a coat and carries an umbrella after October – unless you’re a Geordie, I imagine.
This has been my new go to jacket and has even replaced my much loved biker jacket I picked up earlier in the year. The fabric is super soft and falls perfectly whilst the panelling on the arms plays a nifty optical illusion trick into disguising my bingo wings. I also love the fact that this fabric is dull and matte – sometimes I find shiny PU can look a little bit…(go on I’ll say it) cheap and tacky.
Like I say, I’ve been wearing this jacket more or less constantly and I threw it on last night over this jegging/blouse combo for a night at the theatre. Not the most inspiring of outfits but my post work dashes from a 9-5 and then more or less straight out of the door again means I barely have time to reapply lipstick or run a brush through my hair.
