Stila Smudge Pot : Kitten – Review

Since buying the Maybelline Colour Tattoos and the MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study , I’ve become an avid user of the cream eyeshadow. I never used to wear anything underneath my eyeshadow, not even a primer so when I heard about cream shadows as a base I was like “yo cray cray” – but I LOVE it. I’ve gotten so much wear out of the MAC Paint Pot which I wear as a base everyday, with a neutral shimmery colour on top. Since buying the Stila “Into The Light” palette (review here) as recommended by Gemsmaquillage – my go to eye combo has been Barestudy Paint Pot and the shadow “Kitten” all over the lid and “Bare” to highlight the brown bone with the Smudge Stick in Damsel along my lashline.

“Kitten” is such a beautiful shadow, its a light shimmery taupe/champagne colour which gives a gorgeous wash of colour across the lid and I seriously can’t get enough of it. When I read that they did the Smudge Pots in Kitten I was like I HAVE TO HAVE IT. So I have it. I know its meant to more of a creme liner but I’ve read of people using them the same way that they would use a Paint Pot so thats what I intended to do.

I swatched “Kitten” in store and it gave the same gorgeous shimmer as the shadow and went on so creamy that I was immediately sold. I figured I could use this alone instead of wearing a dent in the shadow every single day, but I’m not overly impressed. The colour is exactly the same as a shadow. I did have a bit of trouble in the start as the texture of this is rather strange… its more mousse-y than cream and it can be hard to blend and is quite stubborn to work with. Once this is on though, its not going anywhere – its literally smudge proof.

Have you tried the Stila Smudge Pots? What did you think?
