For Shirts & Giggles | Simply Be

by Charl Pearce

Remember when I waxed lyrical in my recent post about my love for the versatile maxi shirts? (C’mon, it was only yesterday!) I thought I’d share with you an alternative way to style the popular chiffon maxi shirt for the warmer months with this beautiful multi colour chevron print number from none other than Simply Be. It may resemble Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat somewhat, but when have I ever been one to shy away from colour? I’ve seen this shirt styled by the beautiful Emma Millard on her blog recently and considering I’ve never featured it before (erm how did that happen?) I thought now was the perfect time.

I tend to find over shirts like this are best worn with form fitting clothes to avoid coming across like a sack of potatoes and to maintain some kind of shape. I styled this maxi shirt open over a Black Ribbed Racer Back Midi Dress from New Look which I picked up for about £5 in the sale.  It’s one of those bargain buys which comes in so handy as a basic LBD’s which you can layer with practically everything, especially now that chiffon shirt dresses are everywhere! Worn with bare legs and mock suede tan midi heel, lace up sandals which I picked up for £15 from Primark (which are wide fit and have a cushioned sole for extra comfort) it’s a nice alternative to buttoned up over jeans and a cami top.

I really love that shirt! It’s so babely and the way it drapes over your figure too… just stunning! You are such a babe!
