#HelloSummerMoments with Costa Coffee

by Charl Pearce

imageLast week I was asked by everyone favourite coffee shop, Costa Coffee, to join in their #HelloSummerMoments campaign which revolved around their newly released summer menu.  With the likes of Iced Ginger Beer on the menu, I figured being set a challenge to eat cakes, sandwiches and drink coffee and iced smoothies a plenty was a pretty sweet deal.

After gorging myself on a sample menu of Costa’s new offerings, I took a pit stop over the weekend for a mini shopping spree in town.  Laden with bags and feeling non too fresh in the summer heat, I decided to cool myself down with one of Costa’s new iced coolers.  The Green Tea, Lime and Mint cooler is essentially a virgin mojito.  Tasty, refreshing and hits the spot completely (watch out for obligatory brain freeze!)

imageAs part of my Costa Hamper, I was sent a selection of Essie nail polishes to create a Costa Summer Menu inspired manicure – now, I’m no nail art specialist, I’m a bit of a neutral nails does it all kind of gal but I found my inner nail artist and knocked up the following set of nails based around the Raspberry Ripple Fancy, which are basically French Fancies, supersized. & for someone who can easily polish off half a box of French Fancies, these babies are pretty welcome – it’s ore acceptable to say I ate one cake rather than three… it was difficult not smudging my freshly painted nails or getting crumbs on them.

imageYou know how that Raspberry Ripple French Fancy looked pretty damn tasty? Well they also do a mint chocolate version which is one of the (many) cakes we took along to the park to make the most of the sunshine… with Ted hot on my tail. I figured I’d introduce the curious little cutie to his first Costa and by the looks of it, he’s a fan as well. He’s not too good at the “throw and fetch” routine of a frisby however and instead decided to wear it as a hula hoop, minus the hoola-ing.

Have you tried any of the menus off the new summer menu? I really fancy the Iced Ginger Beer (for obvious ginger reasons) but weirdly I don’t enjoy the taste of ginger. I’ve also been told the Strawberry and Lime cooler tastes like a blended Twister lolly. WHAT?

BRB. Off to buy everything from Costa.
