Floral Embroidery at Boohoo Plus

by Charl Pearce

One of the stand out trends for Autumn/Winter 16 as seen on the catwalk is embroidery.  The trickle down effect from the collections of Holly Fulton, Erdem and Christopher Kane is now in full swing with various high street stores including whimsical embroideries and intricate embellishments on their new in items.  Following a love affair with 70s bohemia and western wear, this trend isn’t unexpected and as a lover of embellishments the floral detailed pieces such as sheer shirts and midi dress have caught my eye.

I added the Kady Embroidered Blouse from the Boohoo Plus range to my basket on a whim whilst shopping for an entirely different outfit (we’ve all been there).  I hoped (and prayed) that once it arrived I’d love it…& I was right.  I immediately fell heads over heels in love with the bold rose and leaf embroidery to the arms and chest plus the caged detailing.

I picked up a size 20 as I find Boohoo Plus can be hit and miss in their sizing, especially with dresses, but this blouse is true to size and long lined.  I’d feel comfortable wearing this blouse as a dress (a short one) with opaque tights for an occasion teamed with black western style ankle boots, my uniformed boot of choice come autumn.

When teamed with jeans I’ve taken to tying at the waist for a more relaxed style but it also works well tucked in at the waist and worn with a western style belt like this one from the Curve section at ASOS.  The shirt keeps coming in and out of stock so if you want to get your hands on it, I’d do it sooner rather than later.

If you love this embroidered detailing, there’s plenty more pieces in the Boohoo Plus range including this sheer bodysuit and Rachel Midi Dress.
