Christmas Eve in my adult life has always been the day where you run around picking up last minute gifts, running to 3 different supermarkets to try and find one item from the Christmas dinner that seems to have been sold out everywhere or delivering gifts to family members far and wide.
The last two years however have opened up a brand new Christmas Eve tradition: going to the pub and drinking enough alcohol that you can class yourself as the “merry” party of “Merry Christmas” but not drink so much that you don’t enjoy your Christmas dinner. It’s a very fine line to try and not straddle, let alone cross, but somehow I successfully managed it both years.
This year I went out for drinks and dancing with Gemma as she spent a lovely “blogging buddy” Christmas with myself and my family before heading off to Morocco. While I had someone to point and shoot a camera, I thought I would share my outfit with you.

I’ve become such a lover of more fitting “bodycon” dresses of late and this dress from the Yours Clothing Limited Collection is beautiful and such good quality. What I like most about this dress is that the fabric isn’t as thin as others that I’ve worn. Some bodycon dresses have that really thin clingy material that hugs in all the wrong places, because of the thicker fabric it sits nicer and gives a much smoother shape.
When I wear bodycon I have to wear some Bridget Jones style stomach holding in pants underneath – it’s almost a pre requisite. I love these Magisculpt Control Briefs* – not only do they smooth out my (troublesome) tummy area but they’re also high waisted so they don’t cut in at the exact place you’re trying to disguise – handy! (no photos of the pants, perverts!)
My shoes… oh my shoes. I have a little bit of an obsession with these shoes, for they are the comfiest and most lovely shoes in the world. I’m not usually good with high heels, I last around two hours and then I’m cursing my burning soles and the balls of my feet, but the comfort sole in these means that I don’t have to kick off my dancing shoes. Aesthetically, why I love them? They’re purple,, they’re suede and “pony skin” effect leather (effect, no My Little Pony hairs were hurt in the making of these shoes) and they’re so strokeably lovely should you have a shoe fetish – and even if you don’t. I’ve received so many compliments on these shoes since I’ve worn them and I actually find myself trying to buy outfits I can wear purple shoes with. If I could be the old lady who lived in her shoe, I’d live in these. JUST LOOK AT THEM.
*some of these items were gifted for me for review consideration, luckily I love them ever so much & can’t get enough of them.
