Rimmel Diamond Dust

When it comes to nails I think I missed the “sparkly & shimmery” nail polish gene. I prefer to have my nails adorned in a block opaque colour. Occasionally when I’m feeling daring I’ll top this off with some chunky glitter such as Barry M’s “Holographic Glitter” or Essence’s “Carnival”.

When I was prowling the aisles of Superdrug, I stumbled upon the new winter range on the Rimmel stand. Their Metal Rush polishes don’t appeal to me in the slightest – mainly due to the fact that I’m extremely anal about matching my nails to my outfit (sad, yes, I know. Let it go) and the two-tone effect breaks me out in hives.

What I did love the look of was the Precious Stones collection of polishes. This beauty, Diamond Dust which is a grey shimmer with glitter particles is the one that caught my eye. It does have a light grey base colour so can be built to be super sparkly and opaque, but can equally be applied as a top coat over a block colour to add some diamond sparkle to an otherwise plain manicure.

What I like about this polish is that although its super sparkly its not overly garish and blingtastic as it dries relatively matte and (dare I say it) dull, so its much more wearable polish for everyday use. Something I do love about glitter polishes is the staying power and how its relatively bulletproof – but unfortunately so much so that it takes a million years to remove and this is no exception.

“Diamond Dust” can be purchased from all major Rimmel concession stands.
