If there was ever a beauty brand more talked about in the beauty-sphere at the moment, it would be Dainty Doll. Fragrance Direct appeared to receive a bumper delivery of Dainty Doll goodies which they then decided to sell on at amazingly low prices (£1.99 for products who’s RRP in Boots is £11+ ? Bargain). One beauty blogger found out about it and the news spread like wild fire – much like the Zara City Bag, if you ain’t rocking some Dainty Doll products this March, you ain’t nobody on the blogger scene (that is said with a massive dollop of sarcasm).
I picked up a few different products from the range, but being the lip product fiend that I am I picked up 4 of the lipsticks.
Baby Love, It’s My Party, Saucy Sailor & Couture
Baby Love is a beautiful nude lip without that corpse bride look, It’s My Party is a super playful and bright pink shade, Saucy Sailor is the perfect flirty red lip color and Couture is the most fabulous vampy berry colour.
The Dainty Doll lipstick formulas have a beautiful sheen to them, but they apply with quite a matte feel to them. I find them a similar formula to the 14 Hour lipsticks from Maybelline, the colour really clings to your lips in a non drying way and lasts for hours which is exactly what I want from a lipstick – I don’t want to keep re applying.
My favourite’s are It’s My Party and Saucy Sailor – I don’t think you can ever go wrong with a bright pink or red lippie, but Couture is the perfect autumnal “Just Bitten” lips shade. I’m finding myself looking forward to autumn already just so I can wear it. Oops.
There may still be a few of the Dainty Doll products on the Fragrance Direct site, hurry though…
