I’ve had a busy couple of weeks and wanted to take time out of another busy week to have a quick catch up and give you a run down of what I’ve been upto and what I have coming up (if you cared)
The Lady Boys of Bangkok – I was invited to go and see The Lady Boys of Bangkok at their gala evening in Manchester by Miss PR Extraordinaire Terri Lowe. If there’s on thing I love more than fabulous b!tches in heels and more glam than you can shake a stiletto at, it’s ladyboys as fabulous b!tches. This high energy show was packed to the roof of the pavillion and all of my favourite pop songs, and some very, very tongue in cheek acts which kept me laughing all night long. Although the super glam outfits and picture perfect make up left me asking “is it wrong to long after the figure of a ladyboy?”#LDNBloggersParty – Speaking of Terri Lowe (she gets everywhere, doesnt she?) Terri and I made our way to LONDON BABY to attend the #LDNBloggersParty organised by Scarlett. We met up with the queen of an OOTD pose Victoria and finally met the infamous Jayne (who was an absolute doll – anyone who wears jelly shoes is in my eyes – amazing). The party was held at Dirty Martini, which is just off Oxford Circus and after braving a very busy Oxford Street (it was Gay Pride) we met all of the lovely bloggers and enjoyed some cocktails which were prepared for us by some lovely bar men – I was trying to start a petition so that they’d have to just were braces with their trousers and lose the shirts. Thank you to Scarlett for organising – its always lovely to catch up with blogger friends old and new.
Soul Sister at the Regent Theatre – Think you know Tina Turner? You don’t know shiz. There’s more to this backcombed diva than meets the eye. Tassles, sequins, legs and Simply the Best is just the tip of the ice berg. I went to see Soul Sister with my fabulous and fricking hilarious friend Mel, we danced, drunk and laughed our booties off an finally rolled home at 3am (on a school night) after supping Guiness in the local pub.
Spice Girls @ The Trentham Estate – last minute gathering of the bridesmaids and the groom of the wedding I’m at in August (the one with the dress I need to fit into?) Booking tickets the day before and frantically trying to remember where my Union Jack dress got packed away – oh don’t judge. Every girl of my age would “bagsy” their favourite Spice Girl and make up dance routines in the playground…didn’t they?
British Summer Time – I’m heading to London on Sunday to see the legend that is Lionel Richie. Hello, is it me you’re looking for? Yes Lionel, yes it is you curly haired god. Aswell as Lionel, the queen of the backside Miss Jennifer Lopez will also be performing – all of this in the beauty spot that is Hyde Park. This will be my second visit to London in as many weekends. There’s only one issue – what to wear?
The Ratells – I wanna tie you down, down… When it comes to “songs of the summer” this one is up there on my most played of 2013. I discovered The Ratells on Twitter via some The 1975 connection (I can’t even remember now) and I predict big things of them and their appointment as the support act for Room 94 on their UK tour is one of them (aswell as a slot supporting The Boomtown Rats in October – BOOM!), I’m heading to Birmingham with Gemma Button (I’m recruiting for the #Ratellion yo) on the 27th July for a night of rum and musicians – you can still buy tickets HERE!
Junction 16 – the biggest summer party in Stoke on Trent for years taking place over a weekend in August, Junction 16 is a 3 day gig bonanaza. With Status Quo headling on Friday 9th, Happy Mondays on Sunday the 11th and Total Access Live taking over the stage on the 10th – there’s sure to be something for everyone. I’m particularly looking forward to Total Access Live – with the likes of my teen heart throbs Blue taking to the stage, Professor Green, Union J (endless love for the one with “the eyebrows”), girl band Stooshe, Amelia Lily, Lucy Spraggan and Stoke on Trent new boy on the block Ollie Marland – I’m dancing my metaphorical socks off all ready – I’m hoping to be wearing gladiator sandals because of all of the sun there’ll be that weekend *glares at the weather gods*
A busy few weeks to come! If you’re after something in London, you can still get hold of Cirque du Soleil tickets which is being held at the O2 – I’m desperate to get down to see that! Next one on my hit list if I find the time?
Have you been or are off to anywhere nice?
