I Heart Makeup Blushing Hearts

by Charl Pearce

There’s no better booster for a blustery and dull October morning than a blush which adds a healthy glow (without disco ball glitter) to skin which is being battered by wind and cold.

I’ve been rotating two of the Blushing Heart blushers into my makeup routine over the last couple of weeks (the pink packaging adds a pop of much needed colour into a dull grey morning) and they’re the shades Blushing Hearts and Peachy Keen – there’s actually a third shade Candy Queen of Hearts but mine sadly got smashed in the post.

These baked blushers are made up of 3 colours which are merged to create the perfect pink, coral or peach shade and are highly pigmented with a hint of shimmer to help define the cheekbones and add a little warmth to the face. Baked blushers tend to have a softer texture to them then a normal blush and can feel almost creamy because of baking process. This means they tend to blend really well (I use the Real Techniques because they’re so soft and a little goes a long way. I think this standard of quality is pretty consistant for the all of the Make Up Revolution products as I (and others) have all been massively impressed by their single and palette shadows and have sung their praises as being the new drugstore dupe for the heavenly quality of Urban Decay shadows.

When my cheeks are cold and flushed from the cruel cold, the last thing I want to do is pile more pink onto the apples and resemble some badly made up porcelain doll. With this in mind I’ve been reaching more for the more subtle shade of Peachy Keen which is a peachy/bronze hybrid and gives the most beautiful warm sheen to cheeks and acts more of a contour to define the shape of my face rather than add a doll faced blush. I also find its quite an understated and foolproof blush for work as its quite difficult to go overboard with.

As well as the undeniable likeness of the Too Faced “Sweetheart” boxed blushes, these boxes remind me of the cutesy cardboard casings which Benefit are famous for. They tend to get a little bit dirty and battered when tossed around my makeup bag but as long as the product inside stays in tact that’s all that really matters.

The Blushing Hearts range also features bronzers and a highlighter which, if the blushers are anything to go by will be beautiful. I’m eyeing one of those up and the I heart Definition palettes which are basically contouring palettes like the ones from Sleek (& I’ve heard on the grapevine they are very similiar to the Naked Flushed palettes from Urban Decay….at a snippet of the price!)

Have you tried the I heart Makeup Blushing Hearts range?

These look so pretty! I’ve been considering getting the Too Faced version. How much are they?
