From Beach Babe to the Beach Bar

Holiday packing for me is a nightmare. In fact, you’ll find me 10 minutes before I’m due to leave the house to head to the airport sat on my suitcase whilst desperately trying to zip it underneath me. Even though the suitcase is fit to burst and teetering very close to the 20kg weight, I’ll still manage to squish an extra pair of shoes, a “spare” clutch bag and another 13 shades of lipstick just to ensure I aren’t caught short abroad. I have gotten better (I’d like to say) and my fail safe way to get more out of my baggage allowance and wear from my clothes is to create a beach lounger to the beach bar outfit which uses one key piece with different accessories. I’ll tend to use a “night time” piece and then recycle the next day or a couple of days later. Be this a maxi skirt you can pair with a bardot for night and a bikini top for the day or a maxi dress that does both.

The last couple of years have seen an influx of jumpsuits and this black bardot from the Limited Collection at Yours Clothing combines the current bardot and culotte trend to make stylish versatile jumpsuit that is just begging to jump in your suitcase and enjoy some sangria and sun. The elasicated bardot neckline has a frill sleeve that covers the upper arms (I’m not the most confident upper arm barer) and the crepe fabric means that its lightweight which combined with the length of the culottes and generous flare means its perfect for those hot summer nights.

For daytime the jumpsuit would be ideal worn over your swimwear which means it’s easy to change out of when you’re between cocktail bars, local markets, the pool and the beach and provides a bit of coverage if like me you tend to burn your arms when out and about. I’m in love with this gorgeous coral and orange bardot swimsuit that Yours have in at the minute and recently took it away on holiday. The colours are pattern are stunning, the ruched detailing to the stomach is flattering if its an area you’re concious of and the bardot frill is just really fun and girly whilst still providing a padded support. I would pair this with these comfortable, flat, gold sandals are the perfect neutral shade and go with everything, oversized coral beach bag with gold pineapple detailing for a multitude of beach crap and retro framed sunglasses.

Styled up for the evening, this jumpsuit really comes into its own and could easily be worn on its own with just heels, like these black wedges, some highlighter on the decolletage and a bright lip for really paired back glamour. If you really fancied dressing it up (hello, you’re on holiday!) pairing it with this statement contrasting floral and tiger print crop jacket with flute sleeves and an on trend choker really ups the ante.
