FASHION || A Date With New Look

There’s enough to worry about when it comes to dates such as where to go, whether he’s going to find your witty and charming lines uh.. witty and charming and the all important first kiss without having to worry about what to wear.

I have spent a good proportion of my pre date prep trying on almost every item in my wardrobe before curling up in a ball among dresses and blouses and wailing “I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR” before finally settling on something “typically me”. I’ve made the mistake in the past of trying to push the fashion envelope to try and impress a date and because of this spent the whole date not concentrating on what he’s saying or reading into the subtle body language he was trying to give off because I’ve been to busy fidgeting with a too short skirt or a too tight dress or feeling like everybodies staring at me like I’m wearing Lady Gaga’s meat dress. The most important date tip? Be yourself. There’s no point starting off something which may (hopefully) flourish into a relationship trying too hard or not being true to yourself, because ultimately your date is going to be “falling for” for somebody that you’re not. OR on the other foot, he isn’t falling for you because you’re not being yourself.

And if you really don’t know what to wear *sticks hand in the hair* grab some inspiration from the most stylish of the celebs and put your own twist on it. I’d say I’m along the “style maverick” line of Alexa and Rita Ora – I like my prints, accessories a plenty and lashings of personality.

Happy dating to you (and your wardobe).
